Keeping Up in English

A James Wolfe reader finds pleasure in reading and has access to a wide range of diverse and interesting books. They are equipped with a range of skills to read with fluency, understanding and prosody. A James Wolfe writer is inspired by what they read to create engaging, creative texts. When speaking they articulate themselves eloquently with high quality vocabulary. 

Sounds and Reading with Parents - EYFS

In Nursery, children had great fun on their sound walks. They listened out for lots of different sounds and differentiated between them. In reception, children have been enjoying their weekly reading morning with parents. This fosters a love for reading! 

Bridging Gaps in Knowledge - Year 1

In Year 1, teachers are focusing on plugging the gaps in phonics to ensure children make accelerated progress in reading. This supports children in building their fluency skills. 

Helping Everyone Keep up - Year 3

In Year 3, children who are working below age expected levels have continued to receive additional phonics support in blend of Little wandle and a individualized reading program. 

Working One to One - Year 6

In Year 6, children have been reassessed to check their phonic knowledge. There are 5 children who are receiving 1:1 interventions to build their decoding and fluency skills.
