Our specialist provision for deaf children is wholly integrated and all members of our community learn British Sign Language. Our school is a four-form entry based across two campuses.

We are looking to recruit:


MIDDAY SUPERVISORS

·      To supervise pupils during the mid-day break, building positive relationships with all pupils. To manage the behaviour of the children during the mid-day break in the dining area, playground and other relevant parts of our campus. 

To assist with the arrangements for the administration of the lunchtime meal. 

We operate from two campuses and you may be directed to work at either campus. 

5 hours per week 

(1 hour per day worked between 11.45am and 1.30pm according to timetables)

(38 weeks per year) 

for a fixed term running until 31/08/25 

Grade 2 Spine Point 3 (£14.38 per hour)

Teaching Assistants

·         We are looking to recruit the following posts:

1 x full time teaching assistant with experience of working with special educational needs children, particularly autism. Initially to work 1:1 with a pupil. You will work 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (pro rata)

1 x part time teaching assistant to work 16.5 hours per week spread across Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (pro rata). Experience of working in early years would be an advantage.

Term time only (39 weeks per annum)

 Salary: Grade 3 Spine Point 5 (£27,030 full time, all-year-round salary)

Pro rata salary for 27.5 hours per week (term time only) £19,382 (approx.) Hourly rate £14.81

Pro rata salary for 16.5 hours per week (term time only) £11,628 (approx.) Hourly rate £14.81

TEACHER OF THE DEAF

Mainscale plus SEN point (£4,479)

This is a part time post - 0.4fte - for a fixed term to August 2025

Start date: as soon as possible

 

We are looking for an experienced teacher of deaf children to join our team. We offer excellent training and development opportunities, supportive leaders and above all, amazing children!

Our Centre for Deaf children is a designated specialist provision within our school.  Our centre uses a total communication approach that fully utilises sign (BSL) and speech across the whole curriculum. Any candidate would be required to have BSL Level 3 or equivalent.
